VELOSCAN AND USERS

Note that 'users' are defined to VeloScan by their Windows® user-id. So for example if you took out a 5 User Subscription it doesn't mean that any 5 users at a time can use VeloScan in your organisation. It would be for 5 specific users (as defined by their Windows® user-id), and on 5 specific computers.

WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU SUBSCRIBE

When you pay for a VeloScan subscription:

  • You will have to submit certain details about your organisation when you subscribe to using VeloScan, including your organisation's name and website address.
  • You will receive a registration product key which can be used to activate the VeloScan application on a number of computers in your organisation equal to the number of users you have subscribed for.
  • The number of active users you can define in the registered version of VeloScan will be limited to the number of users you have subscribed for.
  • The registered version of VeloScan will contain and prominently display your organisation's name.
  • All features in the registered version of VeloScan will be available.
  • The number of documents you can load into the registered version of VeloScan will be unlimited.
  • The number of cases you can create in the registered version of VeloScan will be unlimited.
  • The registered version of VeloScan will cease to operate at the end of your subscription period. Beginning two weeks before the end of your subscription period, the registered version of VeloScan will display a message at application startup informing you that your subscription period is coming to an end and that you need to renew your subscription so you can continue to use VeloScan.
  • Late subscription payments do not change the expiry date of VeloScan and do not grant you an extension of use of VeloScan. At the end of your current subscription period, if you have not yet paid for your next subscription period, if and when you do make payment for your next subscription period, the beginning of that next subscription period will be one day after the end of the prior subscription period and the end of that next subscription period will be set to be the beginning of that next subscription period plus the number of days the subscription period lasts for, UNLESS you have waited at least an entire subscription period before paying for your next subscription period, in which case the beginning of that next subscription period will be the day you make payment.
  • All support for VeloScan is provided by email. We will endeavour to respond to all email inquiries within one business day (Australian time), but do not guarantee we will always be able to meet this deadline. To be eligible for support services, you may be required to provide us with information about the characteristics of your hardware, as well as standard personal details including your name, company name, address, and e-mail address. We will keep this information private and will not disclose it to anyone else unless required to do so by law.

QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE

Q.

If part-way through a subscription I want to increase the number of users I am paying for, how much will I have to pay?

A.

We will work out the dollar difference between the two subscription amounts and charge a pro-rated amount of that dollar difference for the number of remaining whole and partial months (rounded up to the next whole month) until your subscription renewal date.

Example:

  1. You started a 5-user subscription on 04-Aug-2014 and paid $660.00 at that time.
  2. Three and a half months later on 17-Nov-2014 you need to move up to the 10-user subscription.
  3. You would have paid $990.00 on 04-Aug-2014 if you had started with the 10-user subscription to begin with.
  4. The difference between $990.00 and $660.00 is $330.00.
  5. There are 8.5 whole and partial months between 17-Nov-2014 (the date you requested an increase in the number of users for VeloScan) and 04-Aug-2015 (your subscription renewal date). We round this up to the next whole month, giving 9 chargeable months.
  6. ($330.00 ÷ 12 months) x 9 months = $247.50.
  7. So in this example, $247.50 is what you would pay to move up to the 10-user block until the end of your current subscription period.
 Q.

If part-way through a subscription I want to decrease the number of users I am paying for, will I get a partial refund?

 A.

No. Once you pay for and receive authority for the requested number of users you cannot reduce this amount until the start of the next subscription period. When you subsequently re-subscribe to VeloScan, specify how many users you require and you will be charged accordingly.

 Q.

How Do I Get Upgrades to VeloScan?

 A.

VeloScan upgrades are included as part of the subscription model and will be made available to you at no extra cost. You will be notified via email when they become available.

 Q.

What happens if I don't want to subscribe to VeloScan any more?

 A.

If you subscribe to using VeloScan for one or more subscription periods and you subsequently decide you no longer wish to subscribe any more, then upon notifying us of this, and after your last subscription period has ended, we will change your product key to allow you to continue using VeloScan in ‘post-subscription mode’.

The features in the post-subscription version of VeloScan will be as follows:

  1. All features in the post-subscription version of VeloScan will be available except it will not allow you to load any new documents and it will not allow you to create any new cases.
  2. The number of computers in your organisation on which you can run VeloScan in post-subscription mode will be limited to the number of computers that your last paid-for subscription allowed.
  3. The number of active users you can define in the post-subscription version of VeloScan will be limited to the number of active users that your last paid-for subscription allowed.
  4. The post-subscription version of VeloScan will contain and prominently display your organisation's name.
  5. The post-subscription version of VeloScan will not be set to expire or made to cease to operate.

Note that you are not entitled to software upgrades when using the post-subscription version of VeloScan.
